SmartCraft® Integrated Marine Technology links power, controls and internal and external sensors to provide precise data on Mercury Racing 60 EFI Formula Race, 200 XS, 250 XS, 300 XS and Verado 400R outboards as well as 520, 540, 565, 600 SCi, 700 SCi, 1100, 1350, 1550, Class 1 RACE and 1650 RACE sterndrives equipped with the state-of-the-art SmartCraft Controller Area Network (CAN) electronic control system.  The system monitors a variety of vital engine functions including fuel flow, fuel range, fuel used, and RPM, along with water depth, trim angle, water pressure and battery voltage. Boat functions monitored include fuel tank levels and water and waste tank levels. SmartCraft equipped engines come standard with the Engine Guardian® system which monitors over 40 sensors for early indications of problems that could lead to engine damage. And, if a problem does occur, the system takes corrective action to reduce the risk of damage, and get the boater home safely.
