The all-new 1550 dual calibration sterndrive features an advanced control system which enables the operator to switch engine power level via an electronic key fob. The Race key fob turns the engine into a pure bred race machine – pumping out one thousand five hundred and fifty horsepower on 112 AKI race fuel. The Pleasure key fob is selected when a more leisure ride is in order, creating 1350 h.p. on 91 octane (98 RON) fuel. Both fuel calibrations provide maximum torque and efficiency and are designed to optimize the engine performance at each power level.
The 1350, featuring Mercury Racing’s exclusive 9.0 liter quad cam four valve (QC4v) cylinder block and head, provides big power with luxury-car-like drivability. The DTS system also features one-touch Smart Start and automatic throttle synchronization, as well as shadow mode for triple or quad engine applications (where two throttle levers operate all engines). Zero Effort Digital controls provide an intuitive control experience – precisely signaling driver intent to the potent powerhouses.

Power output is controlled via interchangeable electronic key fobs at the dash. The engine pumps out its advertised one thousand three hundred and fifty horsepower on 91 octane fuel when the 1350 horsepower fob is engaged. Engaging the 1100 horsepower fob reduces the octane requirement to 89 or rec 90 to allow operation in areas where premium fuel availability is unknown.

The 1100 pumps out 1,100 lb-ft of torque from 2500 to 5250 rpm and delivers 1,100 horsepower at its 6,500 rpm red line. All of this power and torque comes from 89 posted octane (R+M)/2, (95 RON, global) pump gas. Competitive engines with like power ratings require a minimum 91 posted octane. Like the 1350, the 1100 complies with EPA and CARB exhaust gas emissions limits.
Introducing the QC4 (quad cam four valve) 860 sterndrive. Designed, developed and manufactured in-house, the naturally aspirated, 9.0 liter engine features Mercury Racing’s exclusive aluminum four-valve cylinder heads and dual overhead camshaft valve train. This proven valve train, which greatly enhances engine performance and durability over a standard two-valve design, enables the engine to produce 860 horsepower at 6800 rpm on 89 octane (Rec 90) pump fuel. The engine’s 6300-6800 rpm operating range offers unsurpassed acceleration for its power rating. The higher rev limits expand the range of propeller options available for a variety of applications.
The 600 SCi was the first Mercury Racing sterndrive engine package certified for sale in the European Union (EU). The popular engine, packed with Mercury Racing exclusive components, meets the emissions requirements as set forth in the EU Recreational Craft Directive (RCD). The certification expands the availability of the 600 SCi sterndrive engine package to all countries that fall under the EU's RCD. The 600 SCi complies with EPA emissions requirements. The 565 is based off a CNC machined cylinder block that is stroked for an additional 31 cubic inches of displacement to 533-C.I.D. (8.7 L). The larger displacement combined with redesigned cylinder heads, multiport fuel injection and twin electronic throttle bodies results in a whopping 565 horsepower at the 5000-5400 rpm operating range. All of this power comes from 89 posted octane (R+M)/2 pump gas. The 565 complies with EPA emissions requirements. The 540 features a CNC machined cylinder block packed with Mercury Racing designed components, including a balanced crankshaft, forged and shot-peened I-beam connecting rods and forged aluminum pistons.
A carburized hardened camshaft is used for enhanced durability. Performance cam profiles, combined with larger valves, flow more air through the engine for greater power and torque. Increased displacement, combined with enhanced airflow, results in unprecedented mid-range punch and consistent pull through the engine rpm range.

The XR sterndrive features the race-proven Bravo One gear housing packed with heavy-duty components for enhanced engine reliability and durability. The drive comes standard with dual water pickups. A surface-piercing gearcase that is two inches shorter than a standard Bravo is what differentiates this drive from the rest. The shorter profile enables engines to be mounted lower in the boat. This lowers the center of gravity for improved boat handling and overall performance. Dual water pickups, (mounted on the nose of the torpedo and strut) enhance water flow for improved cooling in a variety of applications.

The legendary M6 sterndrive has racked up more national and world championships in the demanding arena of offshore racing than another other propulsion system. The drive features a race-inspired twin pinion gear shaft design. Patented by Mercury for outboard racing back in the 1950s, the innovative design splits the torque load for a higher power capacity while maintaining a slim, surface piercing gearcase shape for maximum efficiency. Forged lower gears, designed to handle the higher toque loads while an innovative dry-sump lubrication system ensures maximum efficiency and power-output.
The M8 sterndrive combines the best features of the NXT6, but with even more robust internal drive components and an all-new lower gearcase. The surface-piercing gearcase, inspired by the legendary dry-sump NXT6 drive, is two inches shorter to compliment the lower engine profile. Lowering engine mounting in a boat results in a lower center of gravity for improved boat handling and overall performance; it also provides more flexibility in boat hatch styling. Like the NXT6, the M8 is dry-sumped for maximum efficiency and power output.
The Integrated Transom System (ITS), developed for use with Bravo sterndrives, features integral power steering cylinders, making the transom more aesthetically pleasing and simplifying installation. A built-in, seven-inch setback improves boat running attitude in selected applications. Trim and steering cylinders, multi-mounted to the gimbal ring, transfer stress loads back to the transom - increasing strength and durability.

Performance Active Trim is an integrated boat speed-based engine trim system specifically for performance applications where the gearcases are running partially surfaced. This intuitive, hands-free system automatically adjusts trim angle for changes in operating conditions to maximize performance and boat handling at speeds up to 50 mph.
