Overview
The smartest inventions are those that seem as if they've always existed. Maybe it's because they make perfect sense. Introducing VesselView - Race Edition, a fully integrated vessel control unit, created by Mercury Racing. With custom interactive software specifically designed to help maximize boat performance, VesselView - Race Edition tracks vital information in real-time for up to four motors. Engine data, RPM sync, peak speed, trip log, fuel PSI, GPS … you name it, VesselView knows it. In fact, it's almost clairvoyant.
Discover Perfection
The inches-per-revolution measurement enables you to trim outboards/drives and trim tabs to achieve maximum propeller/hull efficiency. It also allows for a direct comparison of different drive and propeller combinations - meaning you no longer have to rely on the pitch of the propeller anymore, which can be difficult to determine. Plus, it eliminates having to update your display every time a propeller or gear ratio is changed.

VesselView - Race Edition features custom interactive software specifically designed for performance boaters. Mercury's exclusive PCM 07 microprocessor sends engine and vessel operating parameters to the SmartCraft VesselView hardware unit, where it's displayed in real-time.
VesselView - Race Edition offers more than 20 full-color screens available to display 30-plus engine/boat functions. A status bar provides real-time, easy-to-understand system notifications, as well as a customizable display area - consistent across every screen - where vital data can be viewed all in one place.
The Process
Mercury Racing employed predictive simulation in the X-haust design. This allowed us to model characteristics of the engine and predict the pressure waves the engine creates through the exhaust system. After adopting a basic design idea, we applied several iterations until the muffler (including chambers and tubes) was perfectly sized and the required attenuation achieved.
